The vast majority of schooling takes place indoors, within four walls. This additional component allows students and classes to get out of the school building. This breath of fresh air enables them to build upon what they learn in class through hands-on experience. Hands-on experience in the field also helps them internalize knowledge in a different way.
There are three targeted programs for three types of young people:
- Discovery Garden: For children and teens ages 8 to 15 who are enrolled in elementary and middle school
- Path to the Future: For young people ages 12–25 who are struggling with the conventional system
- Academic Practices: For college students looking for opportunities to apply what they’re learning
Discovery Garden
For children ages 8 and up, we welcome them every Wednesday and Thursday morning from March through June, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
(afternoons by request) to our “Jardin Découvertes” workshops, where they can learn to sow, plant, tend, and harvest in every season, alongside other children.
Become explorers of life and guardians of the biodiversity in our garden.
Path to the Future
In addition to welcoming young people from all walks of life, since February 2026 we have been developing sociocultural enrichment workshops for at-risk youth ages 12 to 25 who are supported by their families or referred by partner shelters or organizations.
Providing young people with a supportive and structured environment that fosters the development of skills, self-confidence, and—for some—a gradual transition toward a sustainable and inclusive future for youth.
Academic Practices
The fundamental and practical knowledge you gained during your college courses can be further developed at the Jardins des Jeunes.
Plant zucchini, harvest radishes, discuss topics related to putting sustainability into practice, and enjoy good times during an outdoor class.
The Jardin des Jeunes is intended to be a place for practice and reflection for university-level study groups.
